The writing team members met again at the Second Lead Author Meeting that took place from 18-22 July 2011 in Brest, France, hosted by the Government of France. This second meeting of the Coordinating Lead Authors and Lead Authors provided a substantive continuation to the WGI contribution to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report.
The Third Lead Author Meeting (LA3) took place from 16-20 April 2012 in Marrakech, Morocco, hosted by the government of Morocco. At this meeting, the Coordinating Lead Authors and Lead Authors were joined by the Review Editors to consider the comments received during the Expert Review of the First Order Draft of the WGI AR5. In addition, a first meeting of the Technical Summary writing team was held immediately following LA3.
All chapter team members attended the Fourth Lead Author Meeting (LA4) that took place in Hobart, Tasmania, from 13-19 January 2013, hosted by the Government of Australia. At this meeting, the comments received during the Expert and Government Review of the Second Order Draft were considered. Additional meetings were held immediately following LA4 in support of the development of the Technical Summary and the Summary for Policymakers.
See WGI AR5 Timeline for more detail.
In addition to meetings of Lead Authors for the AR5, a number of expert meetings and workshops have been held to broaden the basis for the assessment, as well as to address cross-cutting matters. Several of these were organised across two or even all three WGs; a full list can be found here.
